When you are installing a printer in your work place the main function of it is to print the documents of the organization and the profile pages of the organization. Hence it is necessary that the printed material is impressive. On of the best way to make the printed copies impressive is adding suitable colors to it. But at the same time it should be remembered that adding adequate color is possible only when you get access to a cheap color printing equipment.  Nowadays companies like HP, Canon and Epson are offering multicolor Laserjet printing equipments ranging in cost from affordable to high end, low speed to high speed—take your pick.  High res inkjet printers are also available at very affordable costs reducing costs of in house printing. Even corporate are using one or the other of these two types of printers for most of their sales materials.

Inkjet printers can offer resolutions of 2400 x 2400 dpi and give extremely high quality prints on a variety or printing surfaces such as paper and plastics at very affordable prices. One can print a small quantity or volume. Print quality is superb. The only drawbacks to inkjet printers are slow print speeds and high cost of inks. Replacement cartridges at the moment are high priced so one need to balance out the costs by factoring in replacement costs. The other drawback is that water affects and washes out the prints.

Now lower priced color laser printers are also available for companies who need only a few prints of their corporate literature. Color laser printers print using toner instead of water based inks and prints are more stable and water resistant. Drawback here is the high cost of replacement cartridges and the drum which will need replacement after so many print runs.  However both types offer cheap color printing equipments.  A company may decide that this type of printing is worth it since the print runs are small and matter needs to be changed frequently.

A computer and a laserjet or an inkjet comprise your basic cheap color printing setup and all it needs is an operator who can design and layout and give the print command. It does not need a specially trained operator. Nor do you need special paper. Simple office stationery works.

While replacement cartridges can be expensive, there are firms offering to refill your inkjet or laser cartridges which further help in reducing costs. However be careful about the quality they offer. Besides an inkjet or a laser cartridge can only be refilled a definite number of times and not indefinitely.

So when it comes to cheap color printing these are the two best options whether for your home-office purpose or for small companies or even for corporate.

Color is a must these days and this is one deciding factor in favor of having in-house cheap color printing capabilities. The other is that this facility allows you to print only the required number of copies as and when needed. There is no dead stock of printed material lying about which saves a lot in paper costs.
